I am a qualified Electrologist and Advanced Skin Care Practitioner with 16 years of clinical experience, specialising in advanced skincare, electrolysis, and laser treatments. Having worked in prestigious clinics in London and established my own successful practice in the UK, I have now brought my expertise to New Zealand. As the proud owner of this independent business, I am dedicated to providing you with the best possible service, ensuring your comfort and trust in every step of your hair and skincare journey. My focus is on offering advanced skin treatments, including Electrolysis, micro-needling and removal of minor skin lesions, to address a wide range of skin concerns. What sets ESS apart is my commitment to honesty and transparency – no hard selling, just genuine care and recommendations tailored to your needs. I find immense joy in seeing clients' happiness when they witness the exceptional results.
SO WHY ELECTROLYSIS AND WHAT DOES IT DO
Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal which can be described as 100% permanent. It can treat all skin types and all hair colours (hooray!!). The process involves inserting a very fine probe into individual hair follicles which delivers an electrical current into the base of the follicle. This causes a chemical reaction which destroys the follicle and prevents regrowth. For best results the skin should be in optimum condition and ideally not dry or dehydrated. Therefore, following a consultation, I will advise on appropriate skin prep.
Laser hair removal is never 100% permanent and is not always suitable for everyone (dependant on hair type, skin type etc). Electrolysis is the perfect alternative to laser as it is permanent and more widely appropriate. Electrolysis is especially great for clients' with hormone imbalances or undergoing hormone therapy, lighter hair colour and darker skin types who are prone to pigmentation. For those who are successful with laser, Electrolysis also supports removal of the few hairs leftover.

As well as hair removal, Electrolysis can be used as a treatment for removing skin tags, sun spots, millia and haemangiomas (strawberry marks) and many more, without the use of cutting and stitching. Why wait on the waiting list or pay extortionate prices with a private doctor, if the lesions are safe to treat and don't require minor surgery then an Electrologist can treat these with ease and at a more affordable price and with a less intrusive and painful procedure.
I work with Apilus leaders in the electrolysis industry, their machines have been developed to be faster, meaning more cost effective treatments and using insulated needles for a better level of comfort and skin protection for the client. Apilus machines are increasing in popularity around the world but hard to find in New Zealand at present.
